Call for Abstracts
We are excited to announce the Call for Abstracts for the International Symposium on Medicinal, Aromatic Plants and Natural Colorants, accompanied by the sub-symposium: the VII International Symposium on Saffron Biology and Technology. Humans have long used plants as a natural source of pharmacologically active molecules, aromas, and natural colorants. These phytochemicals not only bring health and pleasure to humans but also serve multiple functions in daily life. As the demand for natural products increases, horticultural science is paying more attention to these crops.
This symposium will bring together world-class researchers, breeders, industry leaders, students and enthusiasts from around the world to share the latest advances in science, technology, and innovation related to medicinal, aromatic, and pigment molecules, and plant species that produce them. As representatives, a variety of omics technologies such as genomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics, and their integration have revealed diverse molecular mechanisms in plant metabolism and facilitated breeding. In agriculture, robotics and artificial intelligence are actually transforming plant cultivation systems and quality control processes. Other important issues include conservation of genetic diversity against global warming and other environmental crises and utilization of by-products. Thus, this symposium will comprehensively cover topics related to medicinal, aromatic, and dye plants. We also hope that our symposium will serve as a platform for fruitful networking among the participants.
The following topics will be developed during the symposium:
- Basic and applied research and industrial application on functional and pharmacologically active compounds, aromas, and dyes.
- Applications of emerging technologies, including omics, robotics, vertical farming, gene editing, and bioproduction, in medicinal, aromatic, and dye plants.
- Comprehensive coverage of cultivation techniques, harvesting and processing techniques, value-added plant residues, quality control, and breeding.
- Research on conservation and assessment of biodiversity, and sustainable utilization of genetic resources.
