Call for Abstracts

This region contains a large percentage of the world’s population and a large number of ISHS members. Geographically, it ranges from very cold and high-altitude regions of northern China and Japan to tropical zones in Asia and the Pacific Islands and includes countries comprised of large land areas with arid regions like China to small Micronesian countries such as Nauru. Consequently, this symposium covers horticulture in very diverse and different regions that is conducted under a wide range of climatic conditions, environments and cultures.

Many of these countries/regions contribute considerable funds to Horticulture research; thus, they have made a major contribution to both fundamental and applied horticultural science. We invite abstracts that represent recent advances in our understanding of horticultural science; or have made a major contribution to applied horticultural systems. This could be a specific advance or breakthrough in our fundamental understanding in a particular field or the result of years of investigation on an advanced system or technology.

These may include production, post-harvest, distribution of horticulture crops, medicinal and beverage crops, poverty malnutrition and hidden hunger.

We particularly seek presentations on recent and innovative technological advances in fields including but not limited to AI, Biotechnology, Protected Cultivation, Urban Horticulture, Nanotechnology.

The following topics will be developed during the symposium:

  • Asia
  • Pacific
  • Horticulture
  • Fundemental science
  • Applied science
  • Diversity
